Mounting of external shuttering Type FKVF

Mounting of interior shuttering type FKVF

MSL folding tube, trapezoidal profile type FKVF in one or more sections

Benefits of spherical shell tubing:

  • low freight costs
  • space-saving storage
  • easy assembly
  • bent to shape ex works
  • economical

MSL folding tubes are produced from a size of 10 cm x 10 cm. The largest possible single length is around 8 m, making it possible to produce a folding tube with the dimensions 2 m x 2 m from a single piece. However it has been shown in practice that larger folding tube versions are better delivered in two or four elements. This substantially reduces the freight volume and MSL folding tubes can be delivered in all transportable heights.

The photo (3) shows a pallet with four-section folding tube elements for a total of 27 tubes with the dimensions 3 m x 3 m to 4.5 m x 4.5 m. Because of the exact profile geometry it was thus possible to pack a total of 108 trapezoidal sheet elements in a very space-saving manner. The elements are bent manually at the building site and joined at the corners in only a few steps using the self-cutting screws that are included in the delivery. Depending on the height of the tubes it is possible that the lowest trapezoidal profile is stamped in the bending section. In this case we recommend inserting the folding tube by this end into the blinding layer as this fixes the formwork and secures it against up-lift. Any base sheeting for the folding tubes is also attached at the foot using self-cutting screws.

MSL base sheets are usually made of expanded metal, thus preventing the formation of a cavity when the concrete is cast.
